Louis Armstrong Park, New Orleans

Louis Armstrong Park is an historic 32-acre park located on Rampart Street just across from the New Orleans French Quarter. French Quarter Suites Hotel and our family of properties sit adjacent to this beautiful urban space.

Designed by New Orleans architect Robin Riley in 1971 as a memorial for Louis Armstrong, the park is home to the New Orleans Municipal Auditorium, the Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts, part of the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park and legendary Congo Square where tradition holds "Jazz was Born."

Armstrong Park has recently undergone an extensive restoration including the installation of wonderful sculptures celebrating the colorful history of New Orleans, beautiful landscaping and a complete makeover of it’s iconic arch entrance.
